WIC (Work in Completion)

Completed Hello Yarn bonnet in Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino. Worked out pretty good, although clearly Lamby has a slightly unbaby shaped head (I think it is the ears), but you get the idea! The stripes had a bit of jog on one side, but not so much that it ruins it, or that non-knitters would really notice, to be honest. I just love how this yarn knits up. I know it is a bit ubiquitous, but these colours really appeal to me. And it used just a tiny bit of each ball! Plenty for more knits. Also, some pics of our holiday. As you can see, we were pretty enamoured of the New Forest ponies!

Yay! New Forest! That's where I spent my term time holidays and weekends with my grandparents when I was 8 - 12. I like the bonnet - might just have to make some of those, now that I know it works with DB baby cashmerino (which I adore as well, by the way, so boo ya to all the DB haters!) Did you have to modify the pattern at all?

The bonnet is cute - but not as cute as those ponies!

No mods to the pattern - I made one previously in the newborn size with regia sock yarn, but it was tiny! It fitted my fairly normally sized baby nephew for a day! This looks better, but without a baby readily at hand I am not sure...I used 3.00mm bamboo dpns. I think, when I checked the gauge, that it was pretty good compared to the original pattern. Very handy to know! Also it took me all of a few hours - super quick for those babies that sneak up on you! The stripes would probably work better if they were thinner though, as the jog would be less evident (I might post a picture of the jog so you can see)- I made them three rows wide.
Cheers! Clare

That bubby hat looks a better size although the original one would be very much appreciated by a prem baby.

Unreal! Unbelievable! Just like a dream vacation! Oh, I’m just so jealous :P are those ponies walking free, just like that? Amazing!
